In the Irish casino news this week we hear about a change at the top of William Hill where Chief Executive Ralph Topping is stepping down at the end of this month after spending the last 44 years with the online casino company. Mr Topping is already 63 years old and is reported in the Irish casino news as having started at William Hill on a part time basis at a betting shop in Glasgow ending up being at the top for the past 6 years. His successor is James Henderson who has also been with firm for nearly 30 years during which time he has held various roles including taking charge of the online business which includes online casinos and online sports betting. There are some thoughts in the Irish casino news that having spent 8 months searching and having a list of 14 candidates there may have been some difficulty in attracting external people to the role especially as it has now been filled by an insider. It is not thought that this appointment will radically change the direction of William Hill or affect any of the online casino operations. In other casino news it is reported that Game Account Network which is a Dublin based supplier of online casino software has done a deal with American company Parx Casino where it is hoped to launch an online casino and gaming site to add to the land based casinos that Parx already has. It is not clear in the online casino news how this will fit in with the fact that online casinos are illegal in the USA but it seems likely that legislation will change in the not too distant future and whoever is first to the market hopes to make substantial gains but time will tell.
