There are several things going on which are being reported in the Irish casino news not all of which affects online casinos but might still be interesting to our Irish casino players the most amusing of which is the report in the casino news from Las Vegas that boy band One Direction was asked to leave a casino and were refused drinks; the reason of course being that the legal age for drinking and gambling in the USA is 21 and not 18 as it is here. There is also reported in the Irish casino news that there appears to be a bit of a battle going on over casinos in Australia where Genting the quite well known casino operator from Singapore is rumoured to be preparing a bid for Echo Entertainment just as another Australian group run by James Packer which is a rival to Echo wants to increase its 10% stake in order to gain a seat on the board. Genting already operates casinos in the Far East, the USA and England and would welcome the expansion into the Australian market. This sounds like being an interesting battle so we shall try to keep our Irish online casino readers up to date in our Irish casino news feature. Meanwhile in Macau which is of course the only place in China where gambling is legal the US operator Wynn Resorts is reportedly investing some $4 billion in a new casino to capitalise on the ever increasing desire of Chinese gamblers and where gambling turnover is reported to be some 5 times that of Las Vegas. Wynn is not the only operator waiting for a license however as MGM and Stanley are also in the Irish casino news as being in the running. The online casino world seems to be out of the Irish casino news at the moment but that will not last long we are sure.
