Irish poker player in the casino news

Here at casinos.ie we do not normally cover poker in any detail but the Irish casino news is full of the fact that Eoghan O’Dea from Dublin has made his way to the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Out of the 6865 players who registered for this tournament worth $8.7 million to the winner the field has been whittled down to just 9 players who are known as the November Nine as the final table is not played until November this year. Irish casino news has learned that Eoghan who is now 26 and a professional player comes from a family with experience as his father Donnacha O’Dea, was also a professional poker player himself, winning a WSOP bracelet of his own in 1998 in a Pot Limit Omaha tournament beating none other than Johnny Chan in heads up play. Eoghan is no newcomer to the poker world having won several online casino poker tournaments and pocketing an estimated $1.5 million on the way; in case you come across him he operates under the name intruder123 so probably best avoided. The final table as it appears in the Irish casino news comprises no less than 7 Nationalities which shows the worldwide popularity of the game and the chip leader with just over 40 million chips is Martin Staszko from the Czech Republic followed closely by our own Eoghan with nearly 34 million chips. Others at the final table include three Americans in Ben Lamb, Mat Giannetti and Phil Collins, Badih Bounahra from Belize, Anton Makievskyi from Ukraine, Sam Holden from England and last but not least Pius Heinz from Germany. All but one are professional players with the exception being Badih Bounahra who is incidentally also the oldest at the final table at 49.
