Do not ignore the casino game of caribbean stud poker

Nearly everybody who enjoys online casinos will be familiar with such casino games as slots or the evergreens of roulette and blackjack but one casino game that is often shunned by Irish casino players is Caribbean Stud. Maybe it is the name of Caribbean Stud Poker that puts people off thinking that all poker games are played against other players but Caribbean stud is different in that there are only two hands dealt, one to the player and one to the dealer, there is no bluffing, no changing of cards and no raising as you might find in other poker games. The only real similarity between Caribbean stud and other poker games is that both have hands of five cards and the sequence of hand values is the same. Caribbean stud starts with the player placing an ante bet according to the maximum and minimum of the table after which the hands are dealt with of course the dealers hand being face down. The Caribbean stud player then decides if they have a winning hand ie: one which is better than the dealers hand. You can at this stage simply fold your hand although you will lose your ante bet and the hand is over. If on the other hand you decide to play then you place an additional bet equal to your ante bet and the cards are turned over to see who wins. For the additional bet to be valid the dealer must have what is called a qualifying hand which is generally an Ace/King or better but if that is not the case your additional bet will be returned but your ante bet will be paid at even money even though you might not have a qualifying hand yourself. The upside of Caribbean stud is that better hands such as straight or a flush pay out at better than even money. Don’t ignore Caribbean stud, it is a great game.
