The casino dealer has an advantage at the blackjack table

Blackjack is as popular at online casinos as it is at land based casinos and most regular online casino players will at some stage have had a go at playing blackjack because a good player can increase their chances of winning. It is fairly obvious that your hand stands as much chance as the dealers hand of having any particular number and the object of blackjack is to beat the dealer. This is not quite the same as getting as near to 21 without going over 21 as some pundits would have you believe is the object; if the dealer goes bust and you have 14 in your hand you still win. The advantage that the blackjack dealer has is that the player has to play first and if the player goes bust then they lose regardless of what happens later in the hand. As the blackjack dealer has to play according to certain rules it is known that on average they will go bust around 30% of the time and it therefore follows that if you follow the same strategy the same will happen to you so a good strategy in blackjack is work out how to use this to your advantage. The weakest hands in blackjack are 15 and 16 as there is slightly above a 50/50 chance that the next card will send you over 21 so a good blackjack player will keep a careful eye on what the dealer has showing (the dealer has one card face up) and if it is a 5 or a 6 will adjust play accordingly in the hope that the dealer goes bust. Blackjack is a casino game using cards so there is an element of luck but it is also a game of chance and probability which can and should be used to your advantage.
