The news from the Casino industry in Ireland is not good with many of our well known “members clubs” reporting a sharp decline in revenues due to  reduced footfall which in turn is blamed on the reduction in disposable income of many people and the recent decision by the revenue to bring the clubs into a 21% VAT net is not going to help but all of that is not affecting the online casino industry. Irish residents have access to the whole world when it comes to online gambling and instead of being restricted to just a few games in the members clubs there is a vast array of casino games as well as card game such as Poker , skill games such as Backgammon, a huge choice of lotteries from around the world as well as our own Irish Lottery. Gamblers are certainly not frequenting the members clubs is as many numbers as previously but are they simply not gambling or have they realised that casinos online are both more convenient and give a greater choice of games to say nothing of joining bonuses and regular tournaments. There are no statistics as the industry is unregulated but we do know for example that both Paddy Power and Ladbrokes which are probably the two best known online casinos in the country reported increases in the online business in recent results. News from online casinos is not all negative and here at casinos.ie we think this could be due to the Irish public turning to online gaming. Because there are many good casino online they are competing with each other for business which is good for the player as this means more joining bonuses and more incentives being offered to existing players usually through loyalty programs..
