Casinos.ie visits Singapore casino

Here at casinos.ie we have often mentioned in the general casino news the Resort World Sentosa in Singapore which opened its doors last year so as we were in the area recently we thought we would take a look and report back to you in our casino news column. It cannot be considered usual for an online casino specialist such as ourselves to report on land based casinos but this one is rather special so we are making an exception. The first thing to mention is that the Resort World Hotel and hence the casino are a little way out from the centre of the city so unless you are staying at the hotel you will need to get a taxi to get there from the centre of Singapore but taxis in Singapore are mostly metered and quite safe. The hotel itself is a very attractive and unusual building and you have probably seen reports and even pictures in general casino news articles; it is built in three towers with what looks to us here at casinos.ie as a ship balanced on the top, the “ship” is in fact gardens but unless you are staying at the hotel you will not be able to access the upper floors. The ground floor is a huge atrium containing many restaurants and bars. The casino itself is in fact not in the hotel at all which rather surprised us but across the street and below ground level and is surrounded by jewellery shops so even if you win big, they are still trying to get you to leave your money there. Casino news can report that during the day the casino is not busy but as evening approaches you may have to queue to get in and by the way you will need your passport to gain entry. Once inside it is very similar to other large casinos with the possible exception that there is a high rollers section which incidentally none of us here at casinos.ie visited. If we get anywhere else on our travels we shall report it here in the general casino news section..
